Smart Metropolia - Open Cities

The “Open Cities” International Conference is a platform that fosters the exchange of opinions, experiences and best practices regarding migration in European metropolises, including those in Poland, in relation to the question about the correlation between the economic development, increased competition and demographic reinforcement.

The conference shall undertake issues related to successes, opportunities, but also challenges in terms of integration and social cohesion in the context of migration.

The key theme of the conference shall be a debate on smart cities and metropolises that, due to implementing their strategy of economic development and ensuring a high quality of life, realise an active integration policy, invest in human and social capital as well as infrastructure, while at the same time managing the risks associated with social segregation and ethnical or religious conflicts.

This event shall also provide an opportunity to present and review the Model of Immigrant Integration in Gdańsk.
